Conservation in your Community

Municipalities in Alberta play a critical role in promoting or impeding ecological conservation through their land use planning decisions. Miistakis has developed and applied several municipally-focused conservation tools to assist municipalities in playing this critical role. Based on a review of existing research and conversations with key municipal contacts regarding the conservation issues they face and the tools they use or seek to use in addressing these issues, Miistakis re-tooled the presentation of our suite of conservation tools for municipalities. Through our website, we outline how these tools could be used to address the conservation issues municipalities are facing and will face. This information resource will be actively promoted to all existing municipal conservation information portals. The result will be municipalities having a tailored sense of how the Miistakis tools can help them with their land use issues, and Miistakis having a better understanding of the tools municipalities are seeking, making our tools truly accessible to them.
